HATRED

My novels deal with some sensitive subjects. One of the most prevalent themes is the hatred that the antagonist has, not only for our heroes but for all mankind. Art imitates life. I didn’t have to look far to find a model for this hatred, I see it everywhere, every day.

I’m not exactly sure how we came to this state of being, but the vitriol that people seem to spew these days is worse than anything I have ever known. It would be easy to pin it on a single group or race, that just isn’t the case. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents are all guilty. Black, White, Latino, and every other race show their intolerance at every turn. What has happened to, not only the United States but the world?

The neo-Nazis and Black Lives Matter look like two sides of the same coin. The Democrats are turning on themselves as much as the Republicans with threats and coercion a daily occurrence. Who have we become?

As I’ve said before on this blog, I don’t really understand racism. Honestly, I’ve seen it all my life, but I just don’t get where it comes from? Am I just stupid that way? Black, Yellow, Red, White, it’s all pigmentation of the skin, why would anyone hate a pigment? Someday, I hope that someone can give me a real, rational explanation and not just a bunch of strange propaganda on the subject.

The anger and heated fighting over climate change are also strange to me. People HATE each other over this subject, and it’s silly. Yes, the climate is changing. It’s always changing. It’s been changing for thousands of years. A volcano erupts, and you have cooler weather for months, a bunch of factories put steam into the air, and you have more rain, what’s the noise about? The fact that man is changing it more rapidly and that we’re all going to die? That’s not what the data actually shows (all it shows is that the change appears to be speeding up,) but you are entitled to your beliefs. Global warming/cooling is a political tool these days, that’s all. People like Al Gore and Michael Moore need to make noise about things like this to keep themselves relevant. Alexandria Cortez does it because she is pretty clueless about everything…no, I mean EVERYTHING (no, Alexandria, we aren’t all going to die from it in twelve years.)

Do you hate anyone or anything? If so, why? If you are a Christian, you are specifically admonished NOT to hate. If you aren’t a Christian, what is it that causes you to hate? Is it a part of your religion? I can tell you that the only thing that comes from hatred is more hate. Yes, you reap what you sow.

Here’s my suggestion for everyone out there that harbors hate in their heart, remember who and what you are. If you were being attacked by a pack of wolves or a bear, would you really care about the color of the skin of the person coming to help save you? Maybe there are some of you who are crazy, and I mean that in the literal sense, enough to say you’d rather die. I think the mainstream would say no, it doesn’t matter.

There’s an old saying, “There are no atheists in a foxhole.” I think that it should also be, “There are no racists when your life is at stake.”
