The Senses Novels has
recently received a few more very nice reviews. If the reviewers are reading
this, please note that I appreciate just the fact that you read and felt like
reviewing the books. While the ratings that you gave are great, I am happy with
whatever you give as long as you put something about why you rated it that way
in the review. That is what helps me to become a better author.
Amazon, who is my exclusive distributor of eBooks, does some odd things. Don’t get me wrong, I think that
the platform they provide is wonderful and has helped many start-up authors to
let the world know their books, myself included. Still, it seems that Amazon
will change the genre of a book if they feel it fits in a category that I’ve
missed. For instance, I looked this morning and noticed that DULCET: Book Two
of The Senses Novels is now in ‘Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Science
Fiction & Fantasy > Science Fiction > Metaphysical & Visionary’, a category I didn’t even know existed!
If you’ve read DULCET, you know that it probably fits in there well.
In case you were wondering,
the books are doing well. I have recently begun to advertise in English
speaking countries other than the U.S. and the sales are good. I am
particularly happy with the way that Synesthesia has been received. It is a
much longer book than any of the others and I have managed to show my love of
historical mysteries into that volume. I have also begun work on book five of
the series and this one is destined to give my editor a major headache.
I would like to reiterate
something that I know I have said in at least one earlier blog post. The books,
all of them, are meant to be more than just entertainment. I firmly believe in
God and that Jesus Christ was his Son. I believe that the Bible is the inspired
Word of God. While that may not come through fully in the books, it is my own
deeply held conviction. The entire series is my method of evangelizing and
there must be something to it based on the sales that I am seeing. Years ago,
my bride told me that she had a vision where sheaves (these represent the lost)
were being raised up due to my efforts. I have to believe that this is the fulfillment
of that vision. What are you doing to advance the Kingdom?
Have a blessed week,
Your editor is going to have a headache from this one? Please tell me it's not stream of consciousness!
ReplyDeleteWorse, much worse...
ReplyDeleteWhere can we see your adverts?
ReplyDeleteMost of my advertising is done through firms that I hire. I used to try to do all of it myself via Twitter, Facebook, etc. Now, I use places like Books Go Social and Spirit Filled Kindle to handle Twitter campaigns, newsletters and more. I also use a marketing firm that does direct mailings. The key is to know your strengths and mine was not the marketing end. I spend thousands of dollars on marketing and, initially, it was a leap of faith to do so. I am fortunate in that I have a well paying 'day job' and could take the risk. You can see a few examples of my advertising if you scroll through my twitter page @KM_AUL. I hope that answers your question.
