WHO YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR

I’ll bet that for many of you that title is a shocker but hang on. This is the year of mid-term elections and many states have gubernatorial, senate and house seats up for grabs. There are a lot of smaller, local elections going on as well and these are just as important as the state and national ones because these are the ones that will have the most immediate impact on where you live.

You are, by now, being subjected to advertisements and news media blasts about the various candidates. Actually, it seems that most of this started immediately after the last national election. The fact is that we live in an ever-increasing political world and there is no escaping the negativity that is most often associated with it.

I know that many of you try to look at the facts before you make your decisions. Some of you are swayed almost purely by emotion. I don’t care if you are a Democrat, Republican or Independent, you make your choices in your own way. It may surprise some of you to know that there are even people out there that make their decision based on how someone looks.

No, really, people make choices based on color, ethnicity, and even how pretty they are. Of course, people also make choices based on what they believe a politician can get for them personally, I mean, who doesn’t want free stuff? I remember a news video a while back where a woman was going absolutely crazy over the President before the one we currently have saying how he was going to “get her a free car and pay for her home and everything!” I’m pretty sure that didn’t happen.

Here is a sobering reality. While a person may run for office with all the good intentions in the world, at their core, they want one thing and one thing only. More control. It seems to be a basic human drive to want to control others and being a politician is the magnet that draws the type of people who want it the most.

I have a suggestion for you this election season, vote for the best candidates out there, the ones that are really going to help you. Vote for God and yourself. You and He can make the decisions that will determine the best course for your life. Now, I know some of you think I should have just said God but He works through us, so we are involved. Have you ever heard the Matthew West song, “Do Something”? Watch and listen to it here: https://youtu.be/b_RjndG0IX8

I hope that you are having a great week everyone!
