I am currently writing book number four in the series. As many of you are aware, I have been doing a lot of historical research for this novel which, of course, means that some of it must take place in the past. I don’t like to give away plot details, but when weirdness strikes, I have to talk about it.
One of the scenes in the book deals with a Roman citizen visiting Japan in the 5th or 6th century. Japan at the time was a pretty rough place filled with numerous warlords just coming under a single ruler. Now the weirdness, I was reading the news online when I came across this:
The article even admits that there it is unlikely that there were ever Romans in Japan. This appeared almost immediately after I wrote the scene. It does make you wonder.
