DULCET – THE POWER OF SOUND

What would you do if every time you tried to speak something catastrophic happened? How would you react if you said a common word and a building would collapse, a plane would fall out of the sky, or a person would just vanish, and worse, you never knew exactly what was going to happen?

Welcome to Laya’s world. Laya, whose ability is linked to the fact that she is not only deaf but doesn’t even have the physical structures needed for hearing, has a problem very similar to this. If you don’t think that sound could do all of these things, I want to introduce you to the MASER.

The MASER (Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) was invented in 1953. In case you were wondering, that was BEFORE the LASER. Microwaves are the very thing that allows you to hear someone on your cell phone; they can carry and create sound. Imagine your microwave oven, only 10,000 times more potent. What would be possible with that kind of power?

If you are intrigued by the idea of a young girl with such an awesome power, I would invite you to start with the first book in the series, AURA, which can be downloaded for FREE from AURA.
